Cape buffaloes are among the most valiant of African wildlife, and are some of the most popular Big Five prey for hunters all over the world.
With the head of an old bull crowning the magazine with horns spread wide and a broad helmet, it almost looks as if the buffaloes were peering out of the thorny thicket and observing the hunter. Engraver Dieter Stübler has also adorned the trigger guard with engravings of thorns and fine scroll designs. This weapon is a feast for the eyes on exhausting hunts stalking "dugger boys" – tracking down old bulls. This rifle's beauty lies in its successful contrast between light and dark sections: the system, the barrel-mounted sling swivel, the front and rear sight bases are brightly nitrided and also sport thorn patterns of fine gold inlay. Dark as the lights of the buffalo is the barrel that has a barrel base engraved with gold inlay, the rear sight leaf and fine-grained class 10 wood, with the upper leg in the form of Africa's classic red rubber cap.
