Mauser M 03 Diana

When Diana Smiles

Diana is the Goddess of Hunting in Roman mythology and is also considered the Patron Saint of Hunting in this part of the world. The name Diana is of Latin origin and means "shining" - the M 03 "Diana," engraved by Ralph Salzmann, has the same effect.

The stylish silver inlays ensure that this rifle gleams artistically: the barrel is adorned with an elaborately detailed silver arrow that runs from the barrel base to the muzzle and formally finds its way to the target, just like the bullet. The fluting of the barrel also gives the impression that Diana has just shot the arrow. Diana herself, engraved in silver, sits scantily clad in her hunting boots on the magazine base plate, amidst nature and waiting for her prey. She is framed by leave- and twine-like decoration that also adorn the sights, trigger guard, action and chamber. A bow and arrow are inlaid in silver on the right and left of the chamber faces in addition to the quiver of the huntress on the top.

Another detail is the dog looking up to its mistress that is engraved on the pistol grip cap. The Alpine stock is an exclusive feature of the rifle: adorned with fine grade 10 walnut wood, the elaborate stock carvings with floral motifs complement the feminine figure of the goddess.

Who knows whether the M 03 "Diana" brings the hunter more luck - but an excellent view is guaranteed at all times when the "Goddess of Hunting" smiles at its owner!
