New development for the M 03 Light
The introduction of Mauser’s new M 03 Light model also heralds a new scope mount to go with this alloy-actioned rifle. The change of receiver materials from steel to dural alloy meant a rethink in terms of strength and return to zero ability, two criteria that brook no compromises.
The Mauser Double-Cone-Mount (DCM) uses twin folding levers to engage and disengage the mount. They are locked in the engaged position making the unlikley event of unintentional operation impossible. Equally critical is the way the mount interfaces with the action, achieved by solid cones that mate with twin holes in the top of the receiver.
The result is a dedicated scope mount for the Light that resists the heaviest recoil forces across Mauser’s range of calibres for the
M 03 including .458 Lott.
As with the original Double-Square-Mount for the steel-framed
M 03, the new Double-Cone-Mount offers both 1” and 30 mm rings, a European rail system and the innovative Picatinny base, which allows the fitting of red dot sights and similar.
Available in time for delivery of the M 03 Light from autumn 2009.
