Question:

I own a rifle with the inscription Mauser Oberndorf a.N.. The serial no. is XXXX, caliber information not available. What model is this; when was it produced; what is it worth; how many of these models were produced; what ammunition can I shoot with it?

Answer

We took over the Mauser Oberndorf company in 1999, and we have only very little documentation concerning the historic Mauser military rifles and pistols. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot make any substantiated statements about the model, production time, quantities or value of the rifle. Excellent information sources about historic Mauser rifles are, however, available in the books listed, although these are only available in English. Unfortunately, we are not aware of any equivalent German language publications about Mauser. If you are interested in historic Mauser rifles and details of the Mauser history, we would sincerely recommend these works.

Question:

I have a Mauser rifle and cannot determine the caliber.

Answer

A distinct identification of the caliber is not possible without closely examining the rifle. Please see an experienced gunsmith or authorized dealer.

Question:

I have inherited a Mauser 66 and would like to purchase an interchangeable barrel and another trigger.

Answer

The company "Jehn" has taken over the repairs and spare parts service for all Mauser products that were produced before 1999. Depending on the model, Jehn has a spare parts store that is still quite extensive for many parts. We appreciate your understanding that according to the huge number of old models a complete supply with spare parts can no longer be guaranteed.

Question:

My Mauser rifle has a defect.

Answer

For all Mauser rifles of the current model program, any authorized Mauser dealer will perform service, repair and maintenance tasks. Some circumstances may require your dealer to send the rifle to the Mauser factory for service.
